Hiring Range: $67,000-$72,000

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for youth development programs including before and after-school programs, preschool, summer camps, and other educational initiatives within assigned districts.
  • Ensure programs operate safely and meet or exceed all state licensing requirements, YMCA safety standards, risk management practices, and national Praesidium child abuse prevention accreditation standards.
  • Provide hands-on program support on-site as needed to maintain appropriate staff-to-participant ratios and ensure safe, high-quality program operations.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, coach, and develop Multi-Site Coordinators and support Site Supervisors and Youth Leaders to ensure consistent program operations and staff development.
  • Foster a positive team culture and develop a leadership pipeline through coaching, professional learning opportunities, and ongoing staff development.
  • Maintain high-quality programming through regular site visits, program evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school district leaders, administrators, and school staff within assigned districts.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Behavioral Health and team to support associates serving children and families who may benefit from additional behavioral health resources.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow Senior District Program Directors to ensure alignment and shared best practices across YMCA youth development programs.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, monitor financial performance, create and implement plans to meet fundraising goals,  and support participant recruitment and program growth.
  • Serve as a YMCA ambassador in the community, strengthening partnerships with families, schools, and community organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years supervisory experience in a school age program setting.
  • Qualified for a director certification in Kansas or Missouri.
  • A working knowledge of children ages five to twelve years of age, including developmental stages and appropriateness.
  • Familiar with current trends in after school programming and curriculum and statewide educational standards.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills, and be multi-task proficient.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and monitoring budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software.
  • Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record that meets YMCA standards.
