Overview

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Youth & Family Program Coordinator is expected to emphasize member service, character development, the mission statement, and to work with membership retention and promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, some managing, and implementing of Youth and Family programs and activities.
  • Assists and participates in marketing and special events.
  • Assists in managing the departmental operations.
  • Assists in interviewing, scheduling, and supervising day to day activities of qualified staff.
  • Maintain records of program participants.
  • Supports aspects of the North Kansas City YMCA's volunteer program including advertising volunteer opportunities and communicating with potential and current volunteers.
  • Assists in staff meetings.
  • Be a team player with all staff.
  • Must notify appropriate staff of any unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Assist in providing leadership of the Annual Mission Campaign.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid / CPR (Adult, Child, Infant) certifications prior to start date.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  • Reflect a positive attitude.
