Overview

Under the general guidance of the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator II is responsible and accountable for assisting with the administration and supervision of the Kids Zone and Youth & Family programs. This position works various hours supervising Kids Zone, Kids Night Out, booking room rentals, leads all events at the center including Block Party, Halloween Party/Chili Cook off, Dessert Bake Off/Christmas Party, Healthy Kids Day,etc.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
  • Assists in planning, managing, and implementing of all assigned departmental programs and activities.
  • Assists in interviewing, scheduling, and supervising qualified associates.
  • Maintain records of program participants.
  • Assists in associate meetings.
  • Must notify appropriate associates of any unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Maintain knowledge of risk management policies and procedures, including Emergency Action Plans.
  • Will act as director on duty when scheduled.
  • Assists and participates in marketing and special events.
  • Fill out all YMCA accident and incident reports completely and turn into the executive eirector.
  • Provide input for operational guidelines to enhance YMCA operations
  • Must handle complaints in a friendly and courteous manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years experience in assigned program area.
  • Minimum of one year supervision preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR/AED (Adult, Child, Infant) and Administering Oxygen prior to start date.
  • Must have good communication skills including phone skills.
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail, and goal oriented.
  • Must be able to deal with a diverse group of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
