Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, the Program Coordinator II position is responsible and accountable for assisting in all aspects of the aquatics department activities and events. The Program Coordinator II is expected to emphasize member service, character development, the mission statement, and to work with membership retention and promotion. 

• This position will contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility
• Coordinates with District on logistics for grant program
• Assists in interviewing, scheduling, disciplining, and supervising qualified staff
• Coordinates training for lifeguards
• May provide swimming instructions to district staff
• Work with Aquatics Director to evaluate the impact of grant funded programs
• Assists and participates in marketing and special events
• Assists in managing the departmental operations
• Maintain records of program participants
• Assists in associate meetings
• Be a team player with all associates
• Must notify appropriate staff of any unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately
• Assist in providing leadership of the Annual Mission Campaign

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years' experience in assigned program area
• Current YMCA Lifeguard certification
• Current YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor certification
• American Safety and Health Institute certifications:
  • Current First Aid
  • Current CPRPro (includes AED)
  • Current Emergency Oxygen
• Perform and pass rescue skills
• Minimum of one year supervision preferred
• Able to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner
• Must have good communication skills
• Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
