  • Overview

    The People Services Coordinator for Recruitment and Training provides administrative support for recruitment, training and other associate engagement initiatives. This position is critical to providing outstanding recruitment and training (both local and national) experiences.


    • Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.

    • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers to ensure a positive experience.

    • Administrative support for local and regional trainings; data entry for training systems, running reports, preparing training materials, invoicing, coordinating travel arrangements, etc.
      Support with marketing for regional and local training.

    • Responsible for the scheduling, preparation of materials, attendance tracking and communication for New Associate Orientation.

    • May facilitate New Associate Orientation.

    • Administrative support for associate recruitment efforts including working with applicant tracking system, communicating with sourcing partners and distributing advertising in a variety of ways.

    • Assist in administration of surveys and reports for Y-USA.

    • Coordinate and conduct phone screenings of candidates.

    • Process all reference requests following established guidelines; ensure responses are back within agreed upon timeframes and communicate with recruitment team members.

    • Schedule candidate interviews with recruiters and hiring managers.

    • Provide support during recruiting process: arranges travel, lodging and meals; coordinates interview process including schedules, refreshments, and packets; and organizes community tours.

    • Assist with job fairs including scheduling participation, coordinating materials and providing on-site support.

    • Support associate and volunteer engagement events including full-time associate meetings, associate leadership team meetings, and other association-wide events.
      Provides administrative and project support to the People Services team.

    • Assist with coverage at Welcome Center, when needed.


    • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Two years’ experience in providing administrative support. Associates degree preferred.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Proficient with Google Suite including Google Docs, Forms and Sheets.

    • Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software.

    • Understanding of basic accounting principles.

    • Detail oriented with good organizational skills, and be multi-task proficient.

    • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.

    • Able to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

    • Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.

    • Must have reliable transportation. Travel around the Greater Kansas City area is required.
