Under the supervision of the Health Living Community Director, the Personal Trainer – Brain Health trains study participants referred from the Clinical Partners leading the research trials. The PT- Brain Health focuses on specific doses of strength, flexibility, coordination and cardiovascular training based on related clinical study in which the PT-BH needs special training to conduct exercise sessions.  The Personal Trainer is also responsible for informing and serving YMCA members and volunteers in a premier fashion. He or she is expected to keep all certifications up to date related to the working with the study, emphasize member service, character development, the mission statement and to work with membership retention and promotion


  • Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of healthy living, youth development and social responsibility.
  • Work one-on-one (or small groups) with members and community participants.
  • Maintain safety by following YMCA and national certification guidelines.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Associate’s degree in health related field of study, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • National accredited certification in area of interest.
  • Current First Aid & CPR.
  • Current license (as needed).
  • Experience working with special populations, specifically people at risk for Alzheimer's
  • Must be able to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
  • Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
